MARSHFIELD, Wis. – The cropping system was straightforward and conventional in 2013 when agronomist Jason Cavadini assumed the role of assistant superintendent at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield Agricultural Research Station. Post-fall harvest included chisel plowing followed by manure hauling on bare soil or snow-covered fields. Conventional spring tillage preceded planting.
