Red trains human on ice
- Jason Maloney/For Agri-View
Red works with his human, Cindy Dillenschneider, on the frozen surface of Chequamegon Bay near the mouth of the Sioux River along Wisconsin's Lake Superior shore in early February. Red enjoys the wide open spaces while he walks on Lake Superior. Though ice has formed close to shore on the big lake, only about half the lake is covered in ice. Those venturing out on natural ice to fish or sightsee, even in cold conditions, must use caution. The Great Lakes are currently at their peak of ice cover. The ice cover will start to diminish with warmer temperatures expected in the coming days.
