RAPID CITY, S.D. - The 2012 Black Hills Stock Show Gelbvieh Show and Sale was held Feb. 2 in Rapid City, S.D.

The grand champion bull was BCV Xcaliber, a consignment from BCV Gelbvieh, Nisland, S.D. He sold for $5,750 to Morell Livestock, Union Center, S.D.

RAPID CITY, S.D.  - The 2012 Black Hills Stock Show Hereford Show and Sale was held Feb. 1 in Rapid City, S.D. Clint Rusk of Brookings, S.D., judged the show.

The grand champion bull was awarded to Ernst Hereford of Windsor, Colo. Lot 26X, ERNST 286M Domino, is a 3-4-10 son of HH Advance 286 M 1 ET and ERNST Miss Marylnn 703. Don Hutchinson of Wounded Knee, S.D., bought him for $8,000.

RAPID CITY, S.D.  - The 2012 Black Hills Stock Show Charolais Show and Sale was held Jan. 31 in Rapid City, S.D. Clint Rusk of Brookings, S.D., judged the show.

The grand champion bull was awarded to J&A Charolais of Sparta, Wis. Lot 24, JAB Bullet in the Gun 102 Pld, is a 1-3-11 son of LT Wyoming Wind 4020 and SCC MZ Bud 419-1128 ET. This bull sold to Deering's Cheyenne Charolais, Wasta, S.D., for $7,000.

BROOKINGS, S.D. - During the Black Hills Stock Show Youth Day, South Dakota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana youth competed in various livestock and horse events from livestock judging, livestockology, beef cook-off, hippology, to horse quiz bowl.

More than 100 youth participated in the livestock judging contest where they evaluated beef cattle, hogs and breeding sheep classes. SDSU's 2010 livestock evaluation team was on hand to officiate the contest and provide guidance during reasons to help youth build stronger reasons skills.

RAPID CITY, S.D.  - The 2012 Black Hills Stock Show Angus Show and Sale was held Jan. 30 in Rapid City, S.D. Clint Rusk of Brookings, S.D., judged the show.

The grand champion bull was awarded to Chestnut Angus, Pipestone, Minn. Lot 50, Chestnut Redo, is a 2-3-11 son of WK Redo and CN Queen MAB 32 81118. Fox Angus Farms of Watertown, S.D., purchased the bull for $16,000.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills Stock Show crowned its supreme champion bull and female Feb. 4.

Wager Cattle Co., Gettysburg, S.D., exhibited the Hubbard Feeds Supreme Champion Bull.

The grand champion bull was Millvale 234 Eagle, a consignment from Millvale Shorthorns, Fordville, N.D. He sold for $1,500 to Jake Alden, Omaha, Neb.

The grand champion bull was WEBR Jesse James, a consignment from Weber Land & Cattle, Lake Benton, Minn. He sold to Jensen Ranch, Whitewood, S.D., for $10,000.

The grand champion bull was L7 XHAUST, a consignment from Peterson's L7 Bar Limousin, Pukwana, S.D. He sold to Kyle Stern, Garden City, S.D., for $6,000.

The grand champion bull was WAGR Ante Up, a consignment from Wager Cattle Co., Gettysburg, S.D. He sold to Richard Wallace, Wheeler, Texas, for $10,500.

The grand champion bull was TDX Mr Statesman, a consignment from Kearns Cattle Co., Rushville, Neb. He sold to Neil Birkeland, Dupree, S.D., for $7,000.
