Trauma workshops and impaired/distracted driving demos at Farmfest
Two important trauma advisory groups are increasing their presence at Farmfest 2015.
Regional Trauma Advisory Committees from Southern Minnesota and Southwest Minnesota have partnered to present demonstrations and activities at their 20- by 30-foot tent (Lot 69), located between the DNR Tent and the Craft Tent in the southeast corner of the Farmfest grounds.
Minnesota Corn Growers to have strong presence at Farmfest
SHAKOPEE, Minn. – The Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) will once again have a major presence at this year’s Farmfest, scheduled for Aug. 4-6 at Gilfillan Estate near Redwood Falls.
At noon on Thursday, Aug. 6, Farmfest attendees can get a free cob of delicious sweet corn courtesy of MCGA inside the main forum building. This is the first year that Minnesota’s corn farmers are sponsoring a free sweet corn feed at Farmfest.
Speaking up for agriculture a topic of Farmfest panel
In a noisy world where sound bites and social media clicks fight for attention, getting the message out about agriculture is a challenge, and portraying an accurate picture can be even more difficult.
One panel discussion at Farmfest will focus on “The Changing Public Perception of Agriculture and What Can be Done About It.” The session takes place at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center.
Minnesota FFA Foundation to Receive AT&T Donation to Support Agricultural Career Exploration Program
MORGAN – The Minnesota FFA Foundation will receive an AT&T donation to support a career exploration program that encourages underserved high school students to learn more about agricultural careers during Farmfest.
The event will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 8:50 a.m. in the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center (Gilfillan Estate) during the free Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation.
