MARSHALL, Minn. – Last year saw the introduction of a new soybean variety that gave producers another tool to control weeds. The dicamba herbicide formulations for tolerant soybeans were surrounded by strict spraying regulations. After many growers experienced off target movement by the herbicide, those restrictions have only gotten tighter.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and manufacturers of over-the-top dicamba products for use in conjunction with dicamba-tolerant soybeans are voluntarily agreeing to further restrict application conditions to prevent drift. Minnesota has adopted even more stringent restrictions.
