Preheat oven to 400°. Gently rub asparagus under cool running water and trim off hard ends. Lay asparagus in a shallow, flat pan (9x13 inches). Drizzle asparagus with vegetable oil. Sprinkle with lemon juice, garlic powder, and a pinch of black pepper. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Note: Rotate asparagus halfway through cooking for even heating.
